Addiction

Accepting you have an addiction is often hard to admit. It can be difficult to acknowledge when certain behaviours have gotten out of hand. You may have tried unsuccessfully in the past to tackle these issues but with your determination, and my help, we can turn that corner together and set you back on the right track.
 
​I have many years’ experience of working with alcohol addiction and have developed the essential skills to help you with alcohol reduction and also complete abstinence. But I can help with all forms of addiction including smoking, eating, drugs, gambling to name a few.

Anxiety and Depression 

All of us experience fear and anxiety from time to time, however, if a you suffer from prolonged periods of anxiety, an uncontrollable and irrational sense of worry all the time, you could be suffering from generalised anxiety disorder. This may have developed in childhood or adulthood either way coping on a regular basis can be extremely challenging and both physically and emotionally draining. Symptoms can include:
 
  • Worrying excessively about an event or occasion before it’s occurred
  • Restlessness
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Loss of appetite
  • Muscle tension
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia
  • Panic attacks over fear of anxiety attacks themselves in this constant state can cause depression

PTSD

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, often abbreviated to PTSD, is an anxiety disorder caused by very stressful, frightening or distressing events. PTSD can develop immediately after an event or it can occur weeks, months or years later. Someone with PTSD often relives traumatic events through nightmares, flashbacks and they may experience feelings of isolation, irritability and guilt and experience problems sleeping.
